Review: Have been buying flowers from Monroe Florist for years. Always high quality flowers that last forever and their customer service is wonderful. They go out of their way to make the flowers look how you want them and are fair with their prices. The $12.99 roses special they've had going is a great buy, the flowers are amazing looking and smell wonderful.

Review: Never have had a bad meal or service at this place. Always fast to wait, fast to get the food out and friendly. The food is simply amazing every single time we go there. Huge beers and great margarita's. The menu is huge - it always takes me a long time to find what I want, but the large selection is nice. They always have coupons in the paper too for 1/2 off a meal. We'll definitely be going back soon!

Review: Aco is the best for not only quick home repair items, but I always find myself buying other things there that I didn't know I needed when I walked in! Lots of things to choose from and always good weekly sales. I've never had an issue returning something I bought (plumbing, electric) that didn't work. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Review: I went there for lunch a while ago, and had a chicken dish, served over rice. It was way more than I could eat. Service size is awesome, their hummus was fantastic and the bread was fresh. Quick and friendly staff. Very good food! I'll definitely go back. My dad lives near Toledo (where they have a couple similar style restaurants) - he said he drives up to Monroe once a month to visit the Shish Kabob. Keep up the good work!

Review: I've taken my van here a few times, and each time they have done very good work, at an affordable price. They called me ahead of time and let me know what was wrong and the cost, and gave me options. When I went to pick it up, they had also listed out some other things that were wrong with the vehicle, and gave me a quote on cost of labor/parts, if I ever decided to get those things fixed. Great prices, great work and a good location. It's hard to find good auto mechanics these days, I hope this one sticks around. From the signs on the shop, they do pretty much everything there. Even oil changes for $19.95.

Review: Always do a good and fast job on my vehicles. A couple times they have done stuff for free, and reminded me my muffler or brakes were still under warranty. For brakes, mufflers or shocks, it's the only place for me in town. Always good prices and quality work.

Review: Use Karen's every time we go out of town. She is wonderful with animals.., even our scrappy Schipperke. The place is very clean and the prices are great. It's a bit of a drive for me, but I don't mind. We tried another kennel in town once, and were pretty put off at how rude the people were and how dirty it was. We'll stick with Karen's from now on. Lesson learned!

Review: I take my dress shirts here and they do a pretty good job. The only complaint is the turnaround time. It can take up to 5 days to get shirts cleaned and pressed. Prices are good though, and whoever is working there now is very friendly, much friendlier than others I've talked to there before.

Review: I went there the other day and had the "Pepper Burger." It was very good and well priced. This is the old "Monroe Diner." The back area of the diner is the Schottenheimer. Very nice looking for Monroe. The bar is granite.. amazing! My only complaint - no Michigan beer!! I asked and they did say they'll be getting some, so I'll be back for sure. They currently have a limited menu, but the new menu looked amazing... lots of german food and regular food.. some really good stuff. The bread on my burger though was fantastic. Pretzel bread I think it was called. excellent.

Review: The times I've eaten here have been pretty good - but keep in mind it's bar food. The beer is well priced. The place is kind of dingy, so don't expect much. My only complaint is the bartenders I've had are probably the rudest I've ever dealt with at any bar in Monroe. They don't even try to be friendly. I've been there several occasions over the years, so it wasn't just a one time experience. I go back because friends like to play pool there, but I don't frequent the place for that reason. Why go and spend my money somewhere and be treated rudely?! Again, good beer prices and, I had a kielbasa sandwich there once that was to die for!

Review: I went to Trappers on Friday, April 3rd for lunch. The food, as always was excellent, but the service was terribly slow. They were very busy, but we looked around and only saw one waitress buzzing around, with the bartender pitching in to help when she could. Another guy was walking around helping people, but again, getting a water refill or extra mayo didn't happen, since no one came back until it was time to pay the bill. I do love the food, and will be back. I would agree on the smoking issue, that place has always been super smokey, the new building design hasn't helped with the smoke. Try the Olive burger.. my personal favorite!!

Review: I get my taxes prepared here every year. They are friendly, very thorough and the price is right. It's nice to know my taxes are taken care of for me, with very minimal work on my end. Definitely a business I'll be using for a long time to come.

Review: We go here quite a bit. They are fast, friendly and give you a huge amount of food for what they charge. There's always a line (which shows you how popular the place is), but it never takes long to get your food. It amazes me the owner always greets people by their first name. You can tell they have a lot of repeat customers. Again, the prices are great, and everything I've had thus far has been excellent!

Review: Great food. I've had the burgers and other sandwiches, but lately I always seem to order the wraps. I'm really happy to see they now have Michigan Beer available - they're definitely doing their part in helping support our state economy. Very reasonable prices too.

Review: I try to change my own oil, but sometimes I'm just lazy. These guys are really good here. They make suggestions, but aren't at all pushy. I like that they remember to check all my fluids and my tires, blinkers, lights each time. Other places in town I've tried may or may not do that extra stuff - Victory does it consistently every single time. They all are priced the same, but at Victory you don't need to deal with the ultra pushy guys, telling you the car needs a transmission flush NOW or trying to push something else on you, to the point of it seeming uncomfortable. Keep up the good work Victory!

Review: We visited Dr. Choudhury's office for the first time today with our new daughter. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with smiles and friendliness. The nurses were very patient, knowledgeable and friendly. Dr. Choudhury I've only known for a week, but he's very friendly and from what I see, is amazing with children. He was recommended to us by several friends who also go to him. After seeing him with our daughter and talking to him, I can understand why everyone likes him so much. He answered all of our questions and instilled confidence in us as new parents. We look forward to seeing him for several years to come!

Review: My wife and I took our newborn daughter to Sears Portrait Studios and had a wonderful experience. The manager, Melanie, was very friendly and patient. She has kids of her own so she really knew how to work with our girl. She took some excellent pictures and even let Mom feed the baby for a bit in between pictures. The prices on the packages vary from low to very high, we opted for a mid-range package. For how we were treated, her patience and thoroughness it really made the experience worth the price. We'll definitely be back!

Review: Located within the newer Marathon Gas station on the East side of S. Dixie, Nadia's is a full menu Mediterranean restaurant - located at the same counter as Tubby's. She serves up some amazing Chicken Shwarma wraps and her hummus is excellent. They have other food like fish, chicken wings and more to come the owner mentioned. On lunch, the Shwarma combos are $4.99 and you get a huge amount of food. A wrap, fattouch salad (excellent by the way!), a large portion of hummus and pita bread. Nadia is so friendly, she'll make your order however you like it. Ask about the refrigerated food too if it's after hours, there's a large selection to choose from.

Review: I've been there a few times now to get my haircut. All three times by different ladies, every haircut has been great. They are open on Sundays which is normally when I go. I use the coupon from the Saving Sense for $6.99 Sunday haircuts (regularly $8.99) . Awesome prices - most places in town charge $15 or $16. Here's the link to the coupons, I see it on there every month: http://www.monroetalks.com/coupons/index.html

Review: I love the Digger. They always have great drink specials and they are famous for their mashed potato pizza (seriously, if you haven't had it, you need to try it). What's cool is sitting out on the deck in the summer overlooking the water. Definitely one of Monroe's hidden treasures. They also make excellent clamdiggers!

Review: Although it's not close to my house, this is my favorite grocery store in Monroe. They always have great deals on meats and everyone is really helpful. My favorite part however, is the beer aisle. They have one aisle, both sides, dedicated to beer. You can find beer from several different countries as well as beer from all over the United States. They also have the largest selection of Michigan made beer in Monroe County, and the prices are very good.

Business: Nenas Tacos
Rating:
Review: There are quite a few Mexican restaurants to choose from in Monroe, I'd say most of them are pretty good. Nena's is authentic, almost to the point of, if you've never had real, authentic Mexican food, you might not like it. I've been there several times and really like it. The prices are good and the food is great. My wife didn't like the seasoning they used in the chicken, but I think that's just the way they flavor it. I try to get the lengua (cow tongue) taco's every time I go. The taco's are small, and slightly greasy, but very good - with homemade shells. The burrito's again are a bit small, but very flavorful - spicy! Great food, I'll definitely go back again.

Review: This is the third or fourth time I've been to the Harbor Inn & Ale, every time has been awesome. The place has been completely redone, it's very classy, kind of reminds me of Michigan Bar. Though, they serve a few different kinds of Michigan Beer, which is a huge bonus. The food is awesome. I've had dinners, soups, burgers and the wings - all have been some of the best meals I've had in town. The homemade chips are fantastic. But, I'll name the Michigan beers they have on tap for the beer lovers: Bells Kzoo Stout, Bells Winter White, Darkhorse Perkulator, Darkhorse Triple, New Holland Kolsch.. and few other good ones. Great place, extremely nice staff, definitely a place we'll be going back to over and over.

Business: China Gate

Review: I went to China Gate on a whim today for lunch. The place hasn't changed a bit. The owner is the sweetest lady ever, and remembers me from a year or so ago. We opted for the $5.25 (plus tax) lunch buffet and was surprised at how much food they had available! We got to have soup (their hot & sour is the BEST I've ever had) and egg rolls too as part of the buffet. The main buffet was nice, it had about 8-10 different selections with rice, fried rice and all of the various chinese food dishes. My favorite was a hot and spicy cabbage dish. Pretty awesome lunch for the price. The other cool thing about China Gate is they serve beer, so you can have a cold one to wash down the spicy food! :)

Review: Mugsy's is a sports bar type atmosphere with awesome food. They are known for their chicken wings, which are some of the biggest and best in town. Try the secret sauce, I love it! Mugsy's turns into a club type atmosphere after 10 p.m., but during lunch and dinner hours it's very quiet and peaceful. They do allow smoking, but it's very controlled - and there is a large non-smoking area. They have daily specials, and excellent home cooked food. Tonight I had an amazing pot-roast dinner with carrots, potatoes and a dinner roll - with french onion soup. Very nice place I will come back to again and again.
