The tacos are authentic but everything thing else I would pass on. We went there for lunch a few months ago and either the owner or person working there at the time was not very vocal, never really asked how our food was or said thanks. People notice these things. If you don't treat the customer right then they might not come back!

Awesome tacos. As the other reviewers have said they are authentic tacos which might not be what you expect if you are a Taco Bell-kind of Mexican lover, but MMMMMMM!!!!!

The best Mexican food in the county, bar none. Authentic Mexican recipes. Their tacos are not the tacos you're probably used too... deep-fried small tortillas topped with your choice of meat, cilantro, lettuce, onions, and tomatoes. Greasy, cheap, delicious. They do a lot of takeout.

The restaurant itself is a bit of a dive, but that's okay. As long as the food's good, who cares?

Now I want some tacos.

There are quite a few Mexican restaurants to choose from in Monroe, I'd say most of them are pretty good. Nena's is authentic, almost to the point of, if you've never had real, authentic Mexican food, you might not like it. I've been there several times and really like it. The prices are good and the food is great. My wife didn't like the seasoning they used in the chicken, but I think that's just the way they flavor it. I try to get the lengua (cow tongue) taco's every time I go. The taco's are small, and slightly greasy, but very good - with homemade shells. The burrito's again are a bit small, but very flavorful - spicy! Great food, I'll definitely go back again.
