One of our favorite restaurants in Monroe. My husband loves the sushi and loves the fact that we don't have to go to Toledo or Downriver to get it. I usually get pasta but lately I've even been getting the sushi. We normally have great service but last time the waitress was super snotty. We just chalked it up to her having a bad day. Every place is entitled to have an off day. It is a little pricey but we feel it's worth the extra for the atmosphere and quality of food. Plus lately they've been inserting great coupons into the Monroe Evening News so that helps.

Highly recommend this place.

LOVE this place!! My husband and I go there often! At least once a week. We do take advantage of the coupons.
The service is usually really good. We did have to wait for over an hour after we had reservations on a Friday night and after mentioning it to the waitress the mananger immediately came over and gave us a discount on our bill and a free dessert. We have NEVER had a bad meal there! HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!

Awesome place and a true gem for Monroe. I love everything I've ever eaten there. I like the eggplant parm and cobb salad. Great food!

Service is excellent, all but one time I was there. It was a busy Friday night and was ignored by our waitress for over 15 minutes. Finally we mentioned something to the manager and he responded excellent! He offered us top notch attention the rest of the evening. The original waitress even came back over and apologized. Even if it was at the suggestion of the manager, that was very classy of her and she continued to help the manager for the rest of our stay. They know how to take care of their customers!

By the way, the bread on the table is a good enough meal for me!

one of the best italian restaurants in the state. its the closest i've found to what you would get in nyc or the nj suburbs where there is an italian place on every block. just like the old country!

Love it. . One of the nicer places to dine in Monroe, can eat there for resonable price if you keep an eye out for some coupones that have been circulation. The Combo dinners are wonderful and large. New Remodel looks great. I would rather eat here than Olive Garden. Appitizer bread they bring out is simply the best. Great for special occations as well, the private dining room is set up nicely.

I know you cann't please everyone, but I am surprised by the comments here about Dolce Vita. My husband & I have dined there on a couple occasions. We enjoyed our food & had a pleasant server. I would highly recommend this reastaurant to my friends & family. It is more upscale than the usual places to go in Monroe, & is a great choice for a special occasion. I am also a former employee of Dolce Vita. I can personally say that I have been behind the scenes. The kitchen is extremely clean, & the cooks strive to make a great product. The owners hold high standards, & care a great deal about their customers' satisfaction.

Wow - by the looks of these reviews you either love it or hate it! I really enjoy the food and the atmosphere at Dolce Vita. It is a top scale restaurant and their recent remodle is beautiful. The prices may be a little high...but its not horrible. I don't think the portions are small at all. I have not tried the Sushi yet...but the current menu is great.

We went here the other night for the first time in a few months. It has been remodeled and does look nice. They added a few more booths, so that is positive. The salad, bread and overall food was actually quite excellent. The service was extremely fast for a Friday night. The portions were very large and was well worth the cost. We will be returning.

We love Dolce. I go here almost weekly for sushi and a martini, and the food is awesome. I never expected an Italian place to be able to do sushi right, but they do! I highly recommend the Sammy Davis Drops (a sushi roll). It is my fav roll anywhere. I also highly recommend the Melonball Martini.....perfect for a friday night after a long week of work. The only thing I do not like about this restaurant is the kinda snooty atmosphere, but, there is nothing really wrong with it, I just prefer a more laidback environment. Highly recommend Dolce.

We ate here this past saturday. The prices were high and the portions were small. We were not impressed and won't be going back.

The new owners must have done the previous reviews themselves. We were regular diners. This place has deteriorated. They lost us.

This is one of the top 3 restaurants in Monroe. Excellent food and service every time I go there. Has the appearrance of an upscale restaurant but the menu is surprisingly inexpensive. A couple can have a fantastic dinner here for less than $30.

I eat here often--the food and service have always been good. There have been many times that we had to wait but we expected it on a weekend.

We have been to Dolce Vita many times when in town on business. The food is always very tasty, served nice and hot from the kitchen. The atmosphere is great and our servers have always been helpful and friendly. We have had to wait a few times for a table, but never for too long. In my opinion, Dolce Vita is a superb restaurant and we will continue to patronize it when we are in town. Keep it up, Dolce Vita!!!

Wow. I haven't ever left a comment on one of these, but after reading the last review, I feel like I need to say my piece. My husband and I have been going to Dolce Vita for a long time now, and we both absolutely love it. The food has always been great, and even when they are packed, like they probably were that Saturday, our server has always been friendly and as helpful as possible. We have actually even been calling ahead now for reservations for our group of friends that come in with us on the weekends, because they have been so busy. From what we have seen, there is long wait at the door (the exact reason why we started making reservations) so I dont know how the last person could have said that there was no one in there. We have really been satisfied with this restaurant. So much, in fact, to make it a weekly destination- I just can not understand what made the last person so unhappy! I hope at least they will try it again because I would bet that they would change their minds.

I went to dinner last saturday about 6:30 it was the worst service I have ever had there. First of all it took us an hour alone to get our food and it wasn't even that busy! We got our food and it was horrible I had the salmon and my boyfriend had a steak, both were cold and tasted awful..way overseasoned. I definetly won't be back for a long time.
